How We Rate

We aggregate data from multiple sources, including our customer reviews, rates, Public Utility Commission statistics, JD Power ratings, Better Business Bureau, and surveys.

Rhythm Energy is a Texas-based electricity provider founded in 2021. The company initially entered the Texas Market through a partial purchase of Entrust Energy's residential customer book, after the 2021 Uri storm. Rhythm announced the purchased Inspire Energy's remaining assets from Shell Energy in March 2025.

Rhythm has a lot of bells and whistles and deserves consideration when considering a new provider. Why? Flat rate plans - we LOVE flat rate plans. Use 200 kwH or 2000 kWh you pay the same rate. Rhythm also has a ton of options that we like: Plans for EV Charging, Thermostat Plans, 100% Green Energy. All good Stuff.

Rhythm has a pretty good reputation. Google reviews, at 4.7 and the Texas PUC ranks them at 2 Stars (ooof!) and Rhythm has been beaten up on our site wh9ich you should discount . . . because we have a very small sample of reviews. Are they worth taking a look at? YES. Do we recommend? YES.

We currently have a just a few reviews for Rhythm Energy. Most likely because people are happy with them. We have 2 Five-Star reviews and 7 One-Star reviews - and when you dig in you find that these one-star reviews are outliers. Moreover they are from 2021-22 when Rhythm was just getting started. More recent Google Reviews reflect a growing company that's doing a bunch of things right.

Of course, Rhythm often requires customers to have excellent credit, so qualifying without a deposit might be difficult.

Of course, Rhythm often requires customers to have excellent credit, so qualifying without a deposit might be difficult. Also, customers ordering this plan in the winter or spring will expire in the summer heat, so keep the time of the year in mind.
